Good looking "shiny" is a result of the image used in reflection mapping.
Most of LW's shiny or reflective surfaces use fractal noise as the
reflection image. play with various sized bar patterns and perhaps a
horizontal gradient might help. It's here that a shiny surface shows
it's "shinyness".
In your images, use several gradient bars in an angular pattern or two
larger ones in a horizontal pattern.
I'm sure others have good images for this as well...
